Audi A1 Sportback

posted by admin in Uncategorized

The Smallest Audi, the A1 is many things but not ordinary. When it first came out most of the journalist said that it is too ugly and too expensive. And they were partly right. But all things considered, this is one small car for rich and probably spoiled girls who like to have something different. I don’t know how many of you remember the A2, but it was something similar to this one. Anyway, we kind of like the A1 with its means face and ugly bottom. And now along with the three door version there is a five door, sportsback hatchback ready to hit the showrooms.

There is no car or brand that is more identifiable with quality and performance than the BMW brand. So when the new 2012 BMW 6 series Convertible came out everyone stood up and paid attention. While the theory used for the 2012 BMW 6 Series is similar to the car it replaces, the new model gets a lot of the same update when it comes to design, technology and mechanic.

Bugatti Veyron

posted by admin in Uncategorized

An article just recently published by The Sun just shows how much people are willing to pay for a car. With Katie Price shelling out a cool £1 million on a brand new Bugatti Veyron the automotive industry seems to be rallying amongst the economic gloom. The supercar which has a top speed of 253 miles per hour (!!) is one of only 300 in the world and bears a passing resemblance to an Audi TT.

The Bugatti Veyron is fast and like all supercars, interior space is at a premium. Whilst Katy Price has sworn to paint hers a shocking shade of pink, the standard model comes in racing red. Not built for the faint hearted, the Veyron is overpowered and has 10 – yes 10 – radiators in the engine to help with cooling. It is more powerful then an F1 car – yes it can beat Mark Webber on the track any day of the week. It is such a popular supercar that enthusiasts have been following it around the world recording videos trackside with their mobile phones. When you compare worldwide roaming fees now, there are some strong options available for the camera and net enthusiast making it cheaper and easier to take and upload photos quickly. The Veyron fans have been doing this ad infinitum and when you see the speed of the car, it is easy to understand why.

The Veyron is so overpowered it took several teams of engineers'years to figure out how to exceed 230mph with the body VW allowed them to have. Initial testing showed that the car’s body shape was preventing the Veyron from going past 230mph. Unable to alter the shape due to VW restrictions, the engineers threw up their hands and almost admitted defeat. The wily eyed boss of VW, Ferdinand Piech who dreamt up the Veyron in the first place, wouldn’t allow it. Firing the existing chief of the project he brought in some new blood and the engineers got back to work in figuring out how to get the car past the 230mph barrier without altering the shape.

Eventually after experimenting with decreasing the wing mirror size, (unfortunately caused the front end to rise up off the ground past 230mph), the engineering team hit upon a novel idea. Instead of having the car sticking to a fixed shape they came up with a plan that would have the shape change as the speed increased. After 137 mph a spoiler raises at the back of the car forcing the nose of the car 2 inches closer to the ground. This allows for increased speed and when you reach 231mph you have to turn your ignition key into a separate port in the ground that lowers the car even further and turns it into a speed demon. You can’t turn any corners, but at 252mph you wouldn’t want to anyway.

The Veyron is the ultimate expression of the man-child within us all. It is wasted on someone like Katy Price.

There was a time when choosing an automobile involved assessing the power of the engines, the level of maintenance required and the various dress fabrics options available for the upholstery. Today, one has to spend a lot of time assessing the fuel efficiency of the vehicle instead. Why?

Environmental pollution, high cost of fuel, long term maintenance costs and the availability of hybrid vehicles has complicated the issue. The Environmental Protection Agency releases a list of best and least fuel More

Young spirit

Previously, slower formula one found a hard time keeping up with the front runners. As long as Schumacher was in the Ferrari, things got awfully boring and monotonous. But since the new regulations and restrictions helped the lower tier racers move up, things are getting more exciting. The boring and what seemed slow Sauber is now a dangerous opponent. Kamui Kobayashi and new Mexican arrival Sergio Perez make the team look seriously dangerous.
